IRobot Roomba Reviews
Founded in 1990 by roboticists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, iRobot is THE robot company. For more than twenty years, our focus has been to provide robots that empower people to do more – whether that’s in defense and security, telepresence communication or in the home. In that respect, the Roomba from iRobot stands at the pinnacle of robotic vacuum cleaning technology, and every model be it from the 600 series or the 700 series is specifically designed for the modern home. From the cleaning to the roving and overall convenience associated with using the appliance, there are just too many technologies at work here. Home Base technology, which is available in select Roomba models prompts the robotic vacuum cleaner to return to its docking station once it’s completed the intended clean-up job as well as between cleaning cycles to recharge. Similarly, features like infrared guides allow the appliance to perform specific vacuum cleaning operations based on preset schedules while systematically moving from one room to the other. Employing a patented triple stage cleaning system, the Moomba’s spinning side brush carefully cleans along the wall edges, whereas its counter-rotating brushes efficiently pick up the dirt from the floor just like you would do using a broom and dustpan. Finally, the vacuum action sucks any loose dirt that has been produced as a result of the above two actions to deposit the same into the appliance’s dustbin. Powered by iRobot’s responsive cleaning technology (iAdapt), the Roomba is able to vacuum every section of a room including carpets, bare floor, along wall edges, under and around furniture. The best part is that it can perform these operations all while avoiding stairs and traversing through floors cluttered with toys, wires or sleeping pets for that matter. The included Virtual Wall keeps Roomba cleaning where you need it and blocks off-limit areas. The robot can be scheduled to perform up to seven cleaning sessions per week, even when you are not home.
